OBL tape
Something doesn't seem quite right about the Bin Laden tape. Does it occur to you that he is using oddly conciliatory language? He warns that further attacks are possible, but implies that they are not imminent. All of this breaks from his past behavior. Clearly, something has changed though I haven't the slightest idea what.
Another odd thing about the tape is that Bin Laden seems to be well accustomed to the GOP talking points, even going so far as to poke fun of Bush for saying the US was attacked because al Qaida 'hates freedom.' He also seems to be somewhat in tune with current American politics.
It's a bit disconcerting to see evidence that a delusional, insane, mass-murderer, exhiled in the most remote region of the world, is more well-read than the president.
