The market value of pitching
After seeing the Benson, Wells, P.Martinez, and other contracts being given to pitchers this off-season, I'm starting to think we should have gotten more for Leo Nunez than Benito Santiago. Maybe that's just me.
I'm also starting to think that Fogg at $3 mill per season is a bargain.

Nunez is tiny (6'2", 150) and projects as a reliever. His peripherals were decent but certainly not portending greatness.
He will not be missed, and was not worth the 40-man spot to begin with.
a number of top relief pitchers came up through the minor leagues as relief pitchers. i doubt youll find anyone who became a decent starter though. still, good relief pitchers are valuable. and even a mediocre relief pitcher is more valuable than 50 games from a 40 year old washed up catcher.
