Can we put the Rick White back into storage please? It's expiration date was 1998.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but he really doesn't belong in the major leagues. And for god's sake, he should never, ever be pitching in a tied game before the 26th inning.
Isn't the strength of the team supposed to be the bullpen? Yet, in the 8th inning of a tied game all you can come up with is Rick White? We are 9 days into the season, so I find it hard to believe that the entire bullpen needed a day off. Aren't we carrying 12 pitchers?
And tomorrow we will have to read another article saying that it's not Lloyd's fault that the economics of baseball are all screwed up.
You know what? It's not Lloyd's fault that the Pirates won't make the playoffs this season. Nobody thinks that. It's not even his fault that nobody can hit with men on base. But he owes it to us to do the best he can with what he has. At no point is Rick White-flag ever anybody's best option out of the bullpen in a tied game. Never, ever, ever. That's just setting yourself up for failure.

Very well put. It's time for a change in the Burgh. We need something to spark an air of optimism, albeit a temporary one... Let's give John Russell a chance. I'm tired of seeing #23 waddle out to the mound like a duck looking for nacho crumbs.
First of all, Ducks looking for Nacho crumbs are hilarious to watch. Ducks could be the funniest creatures, next to chimps.
Second, if you're tired of ol' #23 waddling out there, what if he changed his number? Would that make it better? Would ol' #57 (no offense Smiley) waddling out there make it any better?
Finally, where can I obtain some of the aforementioned nachos? Did they come with jalepenos and cheese? Or was it some half cheese, half salsa combo? Or was it some type of new thing that I've never heard of before?
Mac sucks, I wholeheartedly agree but firing him isn't cost effective unless they put an interim in who is already on the payroll. Firing Mac, they still have to pay his contract the rest of the year. Since they have to do that, and the fact that the pirates are not going to be competitive, and the fact that the organization doesnt care about winning for a couple more years b/c ticket sales are up due to the AS game, Mac, unfortunately, will be here the rest of the year. Unless of course KM and DL want a positive PR move...but seeing how tight KM is with his funds, I have Mac staying the whole year. I had him pegged to be gone by 7/4 each of the last 2 seasons. Why should this year be any different. Let his year run out and he'll be a sad sad memory before Thanksgiving.
